BESS Nagano, Ueda

Battery energy storage system (BESS) technology project, located in Ueda City, Nagano Prefecture. It consists of a storage facility with a total capacity of 30 MW. It is located on a terrain with a favorable topography for this type of installation, in the vicinity of the substation. Nagano Prefecture, including Ueda City, is increasingly introducing natural energy sources such as solar energy and small hydroelectric power plants. The installation of energy storage stations makes it possible to utilize the surplus energy generated during the day by solar energy at night, leveling out the production of unstable renewable energy sources and improving the utilization rate of renewable energy in the region.
